Open yourself up to using journaling as a tool for your own healing and self discovery.

Journaling is so much more than just writing because it can serve as powerful tool for your own future and outlook.

My Journaling Story:

I started journaling over a year ago. It started through my own healing journey and enabled me to understand and uncover things about myself.

It become a place to express my feelings and get out of my own head.

Journaling has positivity impacted my mental health by helping me to unlock by own thoughts and feelings.

When I first started journaling I didn’t ever believe it would become a daily practice but now I do it daily. I find Journaling sets me up for my day and allows me to free to my mind from the thoughts that can sometimes become consuming.

When I am away from home I don’t carry my physical journal with me. I use a writing app on my phone and do a daily check in with myself.

I journal on everything including the good times, the struggles and general things like quotes and planning out my day.

The journals I’ve already completed show me how far I’ve come on my journey. I occasionally look back at the beginning of my journaling to see the positive changes I’ve made in my own life and how the thought processes that have changed.

Journaling has helped me to make changes in my own life and provide evidence for my own growth and development.

Journaling has also become a spiritual practice for me alongside regular mediation and mindfulness.

Through journaling you can:

Manifest your desires.

Set goals.

Express your feelings onto paper.

Organise your thoughts to prevent chaos in your mind and restore inner peace.

Challenge your own thinking and release what is no longer serving you.

Observe your own thinking and identify negative thought patterns.

Practice daily gratitude by being thankful for what you already have in your life.

Identifying old beliefs that may not even be yours and reframe them so you can feel more empowered in your life.

Breakdown unhealthy thinking and choose a more positive view of your life.

I will be walking you through a series of techniques to enhance your own journaling experience and giving you some tools along the way.

1. Deep Breathing: Take slow, deep breaths, focusing on the sensation of the breath entering and leaving your body. This can help calm your nervous system and reduce stress.

2.Body Scan: Close your eyes and bring your attention to each part of your body, starting from your toes and moving up to your head. Notice any sensations or areas of tension, and consciously relax them.

3. Mindful Journaling: Write down your thoughts and feelings without judgment. This can help you gain clarity, release emotions, and reduce stress.

4. Guided Imagery: Find a quiet space, close your eyes, and imagine yourself in a peaceful, calming environment. Visualise the details and immerse yourself in the experience.

5. Mindful Listening: Choose a calming piece of music and listen to it mindfully. Pay attention to the different instruments, melodies, and rhythms, allowing yourself to be fully present in the auditory experience.

Plus…..

1. Stream of Consciousness: Write freely without editing or censoring your thoughts. Let your mind flow onto the paper.

2. Prompt-based Journaling: Use prompts or questions to guide your writing and spark reflection on specific topics.

3. Gratitude Journaling: Write down things you're grateful for each day to cultivate a positive mindset.

4. Bullet Journaling: Organise your thoughts, tasks, and goals using bullet points, symbols, and trackers.

5. Visual Journaling: Incorporate drawings, doodles, or collages alongside your written entries for a more creative approach.

6. Reflective Journaling: Review past entries and reflect on your growth, lessons learned, and patterns in your life.

7. Morning Pages: Write three pages of stream-of-consciousness writing first thing in the morning to clear your mind and boost creativity.

Remember, there's no right or wrong way to journal. It's all about finding a technique that resonates with you and helps you express yourself.
